This has been one of the LONGEST weeks I have had in a while. So a couple of weeks ago I came home from out of town to the surprise of a flooded basement studio. Thankfully before I left town I had moved some things around so a couple of items that would have been ruined were spared. Unfortunately, I had to dispose of a lot of my leather scraps, which are like gold to me as it's what I use to create all the jewelry pieces from. Although I was upset I remembered that I had about 20 additional bags in storage waiting to be transformed so I let go of my emotions. But this week I had to clear every single thing out so that the floors can be replaced throughout the entire basement. That meant I had to move every piece of furniture as well as my industrial sewing machines up a flight of stairs and arrange them in a way that I could continue to work on my production. Basically my body has been sore for about a week. I am mentally and physically drained!
Even though having to do all the extra work of moving the entire studio while staying on schedule with production was tough, I am glad that I was kind of "forced" to do it this week. I have been putting off the BIG cleanup for some time now. THIS was the fresh start that I needed.
As I was cleaning up my space, I started thinking of just how far I've come on this journey. I have accumulated so many tools, materials and equipment over the years! You never realize how much you have until it's time to move!!!! LOL! But now I will have way more space to work as I have spread things out. I now have a separate paint studio, which makes me so happy because a lot of what I make are custom stained bags and now I will have all the space to be artistic!
fresh start
Although I haven't moved anywhere, I do feel like this is the fresh start I need! I have so many ideas running through this head of mine snd I don't know about you but having a clear space is paramount for my creativity.
Rushing to get everything cleaned up and organized before heading to California was my goal and I was VICTORIOUS! This is a BIG weekend and I didn't want the stress of cleaning and moving hanging over my head. So what's the big deal? My baby girl is turning 21!!! I''m not sure why it feels like I won't have any "babies" anymore, when I know she will always be (and act like) my baby....but for some reason I feel like I have a new layer of freedom. LOL! I admit it, I am lucky. My daughter is beautiful and smart and my best creation to date! She is taking care of business and I am incredibly proud of all of her accomplishments! I am beyond excited to celebrate her this coming week!!!!! She has been planning her big birthday trip for t what seems like the enire year, and the other day she reminded me that it is finally "LEO SEASON babyyyyyy!"

Last year I was blessed to be able to travel with THE GREY BUTTON to several cities and share my work. I enjoyed every bit of it!
